I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix 4 E2 M: Q' l# k2 t4 a0 \7 J, d2 u1 c$ t$ p/ j3 d: \
